Pedrali at Salone del Mobile with Solid Geometry

Primary volumes welcome and enhance the new collections
Mornico al Serio, 3rd April 2017 – #pedrali displays the new collection at the 56th Salone del
Mobile #fair in Milan, from 4th to 9th of April. The Solid Geometry set up (Hall 10, Stand B19C28) has been designed by the Milan-based studio CalviBrambilla. It is a tribute to the
soundness of this Italian company through the metaphor of the geometry of solids.
The company celebrates its 29th year of participation at Salone, displaying seven brand new
product collections and four new models, that enlarge on existing collections. These are
versatile and functional products made of plastics, metal and wood enhanced with fine upholstery.
All this demonstrates the wide production capacity of the company realised in its two Italian
production sites.
Within the Solid Geometry set up (PedraliSolidGeometry), covering 800 square metres, visitors
will admire the collections wrapped in niches with geometrical shapes, placed along an exhibit
itinerary opened by a petroleum blue grid that recalls the virtual space of histograms used in
architecture. The settings, which can become part of a collective imaginary for their oneness, are
depicted by primary volumes that become spontaneous stages and essential scenographies with
contrasting colours and lights.
For Nym, the first solid ash wood collection designed by Cazzaniga Mandelli Pagliarulo, a
“British” setting has been chosen that emphasizes the connection of the #design with the Windsor
tradition, a reflection of the arch windows of Windsor castle. The niche with the Reva collection,
designed by Patrick Jouin, recalls the summer atmosphere of the ’60s in California, depicted in
the painting “A Bigger Splash” by British artist David Hockney, where a pool edge with stylised
palm trees highlights the outdoor application of this family. Cactus and the warm sun of Mexico
set the scene for the Sunset collection by Alessandro Busana, ideal to taste a sunny atmosphere.
The exhibit itinerary continues with volumes dedicated to other collections. The wireless outdoor
lighting Giravolta designed by Basaglia Rota Nodari, is displayed this year in conjunction with
Euroluce. Fox, an armchairs collection, features an harmonic mix of materials, the result of a
second collaboration with Patrick Norguet. Buddy is a family of friendly and versatile poufs and
tables designed by Busetti Garuti Redaelli. Babila Comfort, a lounge armchair, expands the
existing collection designed by Odo Fioravanti, who this year celebrates his 10th year of
collaboration with #pedrali. The sound absorbing panel Snooze is the first project developed with
Marcello Ziliani and is displayed in the year of Workplace 3.0.
For SaloneSatellite 20 Years collection, which celebrates the anniversary of enhancement of
youthful creativity of the designers who have begun their careers at the SaloneSatellite, the
outdoor sofa Reva, designed by Patrick Jouin, will be previewed. The French designer took part in
1998 and 1999 at the Kermesse, which represented a fundamental step for his career.
The new collections willl be displayed also in #pedrali New Ideas 2017 magazine, available both in
print and digital version www.magazine.pedrali.it
