Vacheron Constantin launches London craft week at the V&A Museum

Tuesday 2 nd May 2017, Julien Marchenoir from Founding Partner Vacheron Constantin, launched the third #londoncraftweek at the V&A Museum in London, where he addressed a crowd of over 350 people, alongside Guy Salter, #londoncraftweek Founder; Tristram Hunt, Director of the V&A and Mr Hussein Chalayan, renowned #fashion Designer. During the evening, makers rubbed shoulders with leading experts, influencers, editors and directors from the world of art, design, culture, luxury, #fashion, media and government. Attending the #event were Hussein Chalayan, Johnny Coca, Stephen Jones, Tom Dixon and Bill Amberg plus various international stars including Korean artist Do Ho Suh, Hong Kong designer Elaine Yan Ling Ng and third generation Spanish guitar maker, Felipe Conde. Live demonstrations from Vacheron Constantin’s engraver and watchmaker as well as a ‘Khon’ dance performance by The Queen Sirikit from Thailand were admired by guests.Julien Marchenoir, Director of Strategy & Heritage said in his speech: “London Craft Week has become the reference #event for international craftsmanship, having created a platform to promote Crafts from all over the world. An impressive 40% of international content is now in the programme and so as London Craft Week continues to expand, enlighten and excite, we must remember why we are here this evening. It is our responsibility to continue to protect the skills that this week will highlight. And it is our responsibility to guarantee their longevity”
