Alighiero Boetti: Minimum/Maximum
at Fondazione Giorgio Cini

Venice, May 12th 2017 at 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.

On the occasion of the 57th Venice Biennale – the most prestigious, international #contemporaryart exhibition in the world – #sanlorenzo organized a tribute to #alighieroboetti, one of the most important contemporary Italian artists, to whom Fondazione Giorgio Cini dedicated the exhibition Alighiero Boetti: Minimum/Maximum, curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, with a special project on the photocopy theme and curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Agata Boetti.

On Friday May 12th, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., #sanlorenzo in collaboration with Tornabuoni Art will host onboard the SL118 Haiia yacht – moored in front of Fondazione Giorgio Cini - a small selection of art pieces by by #alighieroboetti, made between 1968 to 1988: mixed media on paper, embroidered tapestries and maps on textile.

#sanlorenzo, the internationally renowned Italian shipyard founded in 1958, one of the leading companies in the production of yachts over 24-meter in length, sponsored the main exhibition at Fondazione Cini, supporting this artistic project and highlighting the natural vocation for #contemporaryart of both the company and its yachts, which represent a fusion of refined design and cutting edge technology.

This attention to design is currently supported through an active cooperation with the world of fine art, including several projects with important Galleries and institutions, like La Triennale for the “Sanlorenzo: the sea in Milan” installation - during the Milan Design Week 2017 -, and Tornabuoni Art gallery that organized the 1900s Italian monochrome exhibition during Art Basel Miami Beach 2016 with #sanlorenzo.

For 60 years #sanlorenzo has been building high quality motoryachts custom designed according to the specific requests of the ship owner, distinguishing themselves by a timeless elegance and simplicity of form, the expression of refined luxury, revealed through the selection of materials and the care for the smallest details. Starting in 2005, through the visionary management of Chairman Massimo Perotti, #sanlorenzo began a journey towards new and unexpected routes though with similar languages, like the world of art and design. In the past ten years, #sanlorenzo has therefore involved some of the best renown figures from the design world in its yacht interior projects, starting with Dordoni Architetti, Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and finally Piero Lissoni for the SX line which will be launched in September on the occasion of Cannes Yachting Festival, the major European Nautical show.

SL118 Haiia yacht (36.5 meters), hosting the Venetian exhibition, is furnished with iconic pieces from the history of international design by Marcel Breuer, Charles Eames (from the 60’s), and with contemporary elements by Philippe Starck, Jasper Morrison, Antonio Citterio, Rodolfo Dordoni, Paola Lenti.
