Tales from Indochina: announcing the 2017 festive theme at Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An

Four Seasons Resort #thenamhai, Hoi An has just put the finishing touches to its 2017 festive programTales from Indochina – a celebration of the unique and unifying traditions from the stunning region.  Each day guests will be immersed in the cuisines, community and cultures of the vibrant subcontinent through interactive arts and adventures, fun and feasts.

General Manager Anthony Gill comments: “There’s an incredible cultural richness in Indochina.  It’s a ‘coming together’ time of year, so we designed the festive program to enable guests to delve a little deeper into local and regional traditions.  We take great pride in the fact that 98 percent of our team is local to the Resort, ensuring an authentic Vietnamese #hospitality experience and a vast knowledge of Indochinese nuances.”

Holiday Highlights

Things kick off on December 21, 2017 with a most illuminating evening: a very special Thap Nen (Candle Lighting) Ritual – including the grand lighting of the Lobby Christmas tree – and festive-commencing cocktails and canapés.  Eager to raise a glass to welcome guests personally, the Management Team has also organised additional cocktail socials.

The Nam Hai Exclusives

The immersion continues with daily dedications to the region’s countries and cultures.  Head to The Heart of the Earth Spa for Indochina World of Wellness offers: savings of 15 percent on daily themed treatments that explore various ancient and modern healing modalities.  Enhance the stay – and day – with daily excursions and activitiescentred around a theme: from a day devoted to rice (the staple grain that unites the region) to a day paying homage to Indochina’s fishing traditions.

Festive Feasting

Start off the festivities at The Bar with an array of creative sparkling cocktails and smooth malts on the stylish lantern-lit balcony, with a side order of sweeping garden and ocean views.

Street #food to Royal Cuisine, and everything in between: embark on a tastebud-tantilising tour of Indochina and its many gourmet delights.  From maw fir (fire pot – an interactive family-style meal steeped in centuries of Thai tradition – to a 10-course Khmer and Loatian tasting menu journeying from #vientiane to #phnompenh. There’s also duong bo song (street food) evening, an authentic Vietnamese Champa meal, an Indochina seafood buffet, and more.

Make spirits merry and bright with Cafe Nam Hai’s Christmas Eve Extravaganza and Christmas Day Homard Vietnamien au Nam Hai dinners.  Brimming with traditional Christmas favourites and international flavours, the Christmas Eve Extravaganza festive buffet features 17 exotic salads and starters, bountiful seafood-on-ice bar, Italian-inspired live station, and a wow carvery with whole roasted turkey, glazed ham on the bone, prime rib, and, of course, all the traditional trimmings.  Save a little room for the dessert buffet with arguably the top ten all-time favourites treats. This year, Christmas Day dinner focuses on the Nha Trang region: its fusion of seafood and the sweetest, most delicate lobsters. Savour a four-course menu that pays homage to the King of Seafood, with distinctly French flavours including butter poached lobster salad, squid ink homemade ravioli, classic lobster bisque and lobster thermidor, ending on a sweet high of Dalat coffee tiramisu or matcha mousse.

Time to bid farewell to 2017 with a belly-busting feast that’s worth celebrating. Starters and salads, seafood on ice, sashimi and sushi, cheese and cold cuts, open kitchen tandoor, clay pots and seven culinary stations – barbecue, steamer, wok, pasta, fish, side dishes and darving – means there is something for everyone and more. End the twelfth month with twelve dreamy desserts such as mango passionfruit pie, pumpkin cinnamon fritters and Valrhona chocolate mousse.  Ring in the New Year at Open Lounge after dinner for music and merriment, and, course of, a count down to the start of 2018.
