Land Rover and Born Celebrate Exception Creativity and Innovation

Land Rover has partnered with the leading alternative financing platform #born to celebrate the outstanding work within the #design and creative industry.

The awards were founded by Jean-Christophe Chopin, the CEO of #born, and will be presided over by Gerry McGovern, Land Rover's Chief #design Officer who has also worked with his in-house team to #design and produce a bespoke award for the ceremony.

This year's awards will take place on Wednesday March 23 in Courchevel, France. The nominees include:

Watches

  • Jean-Claude Biver for the Tag Heuer Connected
  • Maximillian Busser for his mechanical spider clock

Yachting

  • Alessandro Vismara for the Vismara 62 Mills racer
  • Dickie Bannenberg for latest yacht #design works

Sport & Leisure

  • Cristiano De Rosa and Paolo Pininfarina for their bike collaboration
  • Paule Guerin & Till Breitfuss for their sustainable bike brand Keim

Architecture

  • Argentinian Marcelo Julia for his "Stade des Lumieres" in Lyon
  • Chris Wilkinson for Kings Cross Developments

Home Design

  • Odo Fioravanti for his Dragon Fly Segis chair
  • Yves Behar for his Tylko furniture collaboration

Technology & Innovation

  • Tom Evans for his collection of parental wearable devices called Bleep Bleeps
  • Paul Cocksedge for his smart speaker tool called the Vamp

Social Impact

  • Yann Borgstedt for his foundation Womanity which works to protect women and girls from gender-based violence

Art

  • German artist Annina Roescheisen for her latest video installations
  • South Korean artists Boomon for show Naksan in New York of a beach under snow

Special Prize: Crowd Funding

  • Thomas Drischel for his chic accessory brand Robert Kerr
  • ZeTracker for their ski device to never lose your skis

Special Prize: Distinctive Creativity

  • David Jones (ex CEO Havas) for his disruptive and creative way to revolutionise advertising with his agency You&Mr
  • Barbara Coignet for her agency on sustainable luxury

The nominees are available for interview ahead of the award ceremony.

Throughout the award ceremony, there will be an exhibition where sculptor and previous #born award winner, Richard Orlinski will reveal 11 spectacular animal sculptures, including a bespoke wire frame Range Rover Evoque Convertible with a wild 'Kong' at the sports complex, Aquamotion in Courchevel.

It's where innovative products are discovered, financed and bought by its community of #design enthusiasts.Each year, #born celebrates and nurtures creative leaders and outstanding work within the #design and creative industry with the #born Awards.The awards, first presented in 2010 at the Courchevel ski resort, France, celebrate men and women who know how to take the creative risks to make their dreams into reality. Previous winners have included director Danny Boyle, composer Jean-Michel Jarre, artists Richard Orlinski and designer Ramesh Nair.
