West Coast Salmon East Coast Lobster Burger

Chef Weimar Gomez, a relative newcomer to #canada himself, has been overwhelmed by the incredible quality of local seafood. To celebrate Canada’s birthday in a delicious, and over-the-top, sustainable-seafood way, YEW seafood + bar presents an oversize burger boasting a maple syrup glazed lobster tail, wild salmon filet, topped with Canadian back bacon, tomato, lettuce and avocado on a house-made brioche bun, surrounded by perfectly cooked hand-cut waffle fries. This CAD 50 burger will satisfy Canadian hungers in one Instagram-worthy meal. Available June 1 through Labour Day 2017.

YEW’s own Jessica Hoffman has created a tasty twist on the most Canadian of cocktails with a smoky Caesar featuring Canadian Club whiskey, Clamato, an intensely flavoured blend of adobo peppers, maple syrup, olive juice, lime and, of course, bacon.  Cost is CAD 16.

Canada 150 Sunday Seafood Dining Series

The team at YEW seafood + bar is celebrating this milestone anniversary with a dozen special Sunday dinnershighlighting some of the best ingredients from Canada’s oceans. Beginning with wild BC spot prawns in May and June and graduating to dungeness crab and lobster in July and August, these communal family-style dinners promise to be both fun and delicious. Priced at two for CAD 150, the #canada 150 Sunday Seafood Dining Series is all about getting to know seatmates while digging into luscious shellfish and farm-fresh produce. All dinners include a complimentary glass of CedarCreek Estate Winery chardonnay or pinot noir and an option to pre-purchase value-priced wine pairings.

Fresh. Local. Wild.  Join YEW's Spot Prawn Boil Series

It doesn’t get more local that wild BC spot prawns.  The season launched May 13, 2017 and YEW has brought back the ultra-popular family-style Spot Prawn Boil Dining Series.  On May 21, 28 and June 4, a limited number of guests will be able to book a seat at YEW’s communal table for an interactive, get-messy feast.  Guests will tie on a bib (to keep) and raise a complimentary glass of CedarCreek chardonnay or pinot noir and dig into a butter lettuce salad with crispy shallots, balsamic, strawberries and fromage frais as a preview to the main #event.  Hands stretch across the table to enjoy family-style boiled BC spot prawns, marbled potatoes, grilled asparagus and sautéed zucchini, and confit heirloom tomatoes best enjoyed with YEW’s irresistible house-made baguettes.  Wrap up the evening with lemon custard cakes with chantilly cream, strawberries three-ways and limoncello sorbet. 

Get Crackin': Enjoy a Summer Coast-to-Coast Canadian Crab and Lobster Feast

Sweet, succulent, buttery and juicy: the shellfish all-stars lobster and dungeness crab. On Sundays July 9, 16, 23, 30 and August 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2017, a limited number of guests will be able to book a seat at YEW’s communal table for an over-the-top, interactive crab and lobster feast. Raise a glass of CedarCreek’s chardonnay and make new friends cracking and dipping around the table to dig in to the generous family-style meal starring lobster and dungeness crab. The three-course meal kicks off with a bright and flavourful baby gem lettuce salad with summer stone fruit and features garden fresh sides including marbled potatoes, grilled asparagus, roasted corn and grilled broccolini best enjoyed with Pastry Chef Mark Burton’s homemade baguette and strawberry rhubarb and basil verrine.
