Decidedly sporty: the Audi TT as S line competition

With the TT S line competition*, #audi brings the sporty character of the TT Coupé* and TT Roadster* even more to the fore. The special model includes an array of striking details for the exterior and interior – from the fixed rear wing to the #audi virtual cockpit with sport screen. The special edition will be available from the end of 2016.

The #audi TT has always held the power to fascinate with its sporty design and dynamic handling. This character is now underscored by the S line competition special model. The Singleframe, the blade at the front, the exterior mirror housings and the diffuser insert come in a high-gloss black finish, to reinforce its forceful looks. The fixed rear wing of the limited-edition model also radiates sports appeal. This component, too, is painted high-gloss black. The tailpipe trims of the exhaust system have a black chrome finish.

The sport suspension with firm spring/damper settings lowers the ride height of the TT S line competition by ten millimeters (0.4 in) compared with the basic version. And the standard #audi drive select system enhances driving dynamics whenever desired. This enables the driver to modify their car’s characteristics in the #auto, comfort, dynamic, efficiency and individual modes.

The limited-edition car is factory-fitted with 19-inch wheels in a gloss black five-spoke blade design, fitted with size 245/35 tires. Behind the wheels, the red-painted brake calipers provide highlights. The choice of body colors comprises glacier white, nano gray, tango red and the new TT color Ara blue. The hood of the #ttroadsterslinecompetition is black.

In the cockpit, S sport seats with embossing in the backrests encapsulate the dynamic character of the TT S line competition. Their highly contoured side supports – optionally with pneumatic adjustment – provide excellent lateral support for driver and passenger alike. Electrically adjustable lumbar supports are integrated as standard. The flat-bottomed S line contoured sport leather steering wheel in three-spoke design has multifunction buttons for quick and easy operation of the navigation, media, phone and speech dialog system. As is typical for the TT, the #audi virtual cockpit comes on board as standard. The driver chooses between three modes with the “View” button on the steering wheel. As well as the classic view and the “Infotainment” mode, the limited-edition model has a sport screen where the central tachometer with integral speed display dominates the all-digital instrument cluster.

In defining the range of colors and materials, #audi has created a balanced mix of sports appeal and elegance: Seats and door armrests are upholstered in a combination of leather and Alcantara, or optionally all in Fine Nappa leather – in both cases in black. Gray contrasting stitching adorns the seats, leather steering wheel, doors and gear/selector lever knob. The inlays are in matt brushed aluminum, while the air vents, the clip around the center console and the seat trims have a slate gray chrome paint finish. As in the TTS*, the surface of the soft foam-cushioned dashboard has a slightly raised honeycomb structure that comes across as both technical and sporty. The depressed polygons are produced by removing with a laser two tenths of a millimeter of material from the surface in several stages. Each individual honeycomb is exactly aligned with the design edges of the dashboard support. The result is a clear and linear pattern. The floor mats with black piping are also from the TTS range.

Audi is offering the special model TT S line competition outfitted with the 230 hp 2.0 TFSI engine. It is available as a front-wheel-drive version with six-speed manual transmission or S tronic, and as a quattro with S tronic. Prices for the #ttcoupeslinecompetition start at EUR 41,940. The roadster version of the special model costs EUR 44,340 upwards.
