Maserati no. 100,000, a Quattroporte Gransport sedan, presented to Chinese customer at Auto Shanghai 2017

Maserati celebrated the milestone delivery of its 100,000th car at #autoshanghai 2017, a Quattroporte produced in the Grugliasco plant of Italy.

China’s distinction as the Quattroporte’s largest market as well as its 91% year-on-year sales growth in 2016 underline the Chinese market’s important role in Maserati’s global performance, which set a new record with 42,100 car deliveries worldwide last year.
#maserati has taken centre stage with a historic moment at #autoshanghai 2017, presenting its 100,000th car, a 2017 #quattroportegransport manufactured at the Avv. Giovanni Agnelli Plant in Italy, to the honoured Chinese owner. Featuring a solid-white exterior and an elegant shade of tan inside, this #quattroportegransport is fitted with 21" Titano rims and features eye-catching red brake calipers. The colour combination perfectly reflects the brand's legendary heritage of elegance and passion for performance.

Reid Bigland, Head of #maserati, officially unveiled car No. 100,000 at the press conference and announced its honoured owner, a successful and impressive young lady.

"China is Maserati's largest market for Quattroporte in the world," said Mr. Bigland. "Our remarkable performance in China last year was a major contributor to our record-breaking global sales. China's elites are increasingly enamoured by the Italian brand of luxury, exquisite craftsmanship and passion for driving that are poured into every #maserati."

Mirko Bordiga, Managing Director of #maserati China, provided additional context for the brand's recent momentum. "Maserati has been in China for over twelve years," he explained. "Our 2016 sales figures show a significant rise over those of 2015. We attribute this success not only to the fantastic line-up of cars we have launched, but also to Chinese consumers' growing appreciation for Maserati's unique lifestyle proposition."

In 2016, Maserati's sales volume in China broke 12,000, which marks an incredible 120-fold increase over the 100 sales made in 2004, the company's first year operating in China. Today, #maserati has around 30,000 customers in China, 38 percent of whom are women. Maserati's elegant aesthetics, unparalleled craftsmanship, seductive engine sound and thrilling driving experience have truly captured the hearts of China's discerning new generation of business elites.

Over the past 100 years, #maserati has perfected the craftsmanship of super-luxury cars, engineering and producing each car entirely in Italy. Visitors to #autoshanghai 2017 can take in an impressive line-up, featuring: Quattroporte, Maserati's flagship sedan; Levante, the brand's first-ever SUV; and the always-breath-taking Ghibli sporty sedan.

Quattroporte

The newly-designed 2017 Quattroporte sports a restyled exterior, further refinement on the interior and additional high-tech features such as an Advanced Driver Assistance System. Offering several innovations in exterior and interior design, included in the GranLusso and GranSport versions; new infotainment system with high resolution 8.4” capacitive touch screen embedded in a redesigned central console with rotary knob for better ergonomy and customer usability; improved power and reduced drag resistance; multiple technical and technological new contents related to the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems features; increased level of on-board comfort, also due to the Standard Air Quality Sensor on all versions: the latest Quattroporte perfectly combines luxury and sporty performance, comfort and up-to-date convenience contents.

Car No. 100,000, a white Quattroporte made to the owner's specifications, is powered by a powerful 3.0-litre Twin Turbo V6 engine with 350 HP and torque of 500 Nm between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm. The car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in only 5.5 seconds and is capable of a 270 km/h top speed. Thanks to this 3.0-litre engine, the Quattroporte delivers the lowest-ever petrol consumption in its 50-year history, with just 9.1 litres/100 km as well as CO2 emissions of 212 grams/km.

The Quattroporte GranLusso offers a distinctive exterior design with a new front lower fascia incorporating an elegant floating bridge element and a delicate spoiler, detailed by the chrome bumper finish and the body colour bumper profiles. Inside the cabin, style-conscious motorists will be delighted by the elegance of the luxurious Ermenegildo Zegna Silk Edition interior, which now comes standard. The Ermenegildo Zegna-designed interior combines fine grain leather with patented 100% natural fibre Zegna Mulberry Silk, creating ultra-luxurious seats, door panels, roof lining, sunshades and the ceiling light fixture for an unmatched user experience. The silk is further embellished by the hand-stitched macro-chevron weave for added comfort and elegance. The central passenger seat features micro-chevron weaved patterns, while Zegna Silk copiously adorn door panels, rood lining and sunshades.

Evoking the best of Maserati's motor racing heritage, the Quattroporte is also available in GranSport trim for a more dynamic exterior that highlights the model's sporty character: redesigned centre and side air intakes deliver enhanced cooling while showcasing the car’s imposing front end; this aggressive stance is further accentuated in the lower fascia by aerodynamic splits in the front grille. Viewed from behind, the centre fuselage and two flanking side pockets draw attention to the exhausts, while an aggressive black piano spoiler completes the rear view. Thanks to the high-gloss Carbon interior trim  dashboard, special sports seats, aluminium gearbox paddles on the steering column and the stainless steel sports pedals, the interior of the GranSport Quattroporte exudes dynamism and energy.

Levante

Levante, Maserati's first SUV, with its distinctively Italian style and breath-taking iconic #maserati design features, continues to generate acclaim. The car's name is inspired by the warm Mediterranean wind that can change from mild to gale force in an instant, mirroring the character of the first #maserati SUV. Levante delivers outstanding performance both on- and off-road, handling different terrains with extraordinary precision. Levant’s agility is a #product of technical features such as Air Springs and electronically controlled Skyhook shock absorbers, which comes standard, and extensive use of lightweight materials, ideal 50-50 weight distribution and the lowest centre of gravity in its class. Market feedback for Levante has been overwhelmingly positive ever since its launch.

The Levante is powered by a 3.0 litre V6 Twin-Turbo petrol engine that generates 350 HP or 430 HP. All engines are combined with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and the “Q4” intelligent all-wheel drive system, which can transfer torque between the axles instantaneously when required. The Levante S 430 HP accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and has a top speed of 264 km/h, providing customers with unmatched sports performance and excellent daily driving experience.

Ghibli

Ghibli is Maserati's first 4-door sports executive sedan. Its sculpted forms and fluid volumes are connected by clean lines to form a unique style that is unmistakably #maserati style, combining performance, control and comfort to give motorists a rewarding driving experience day-in, day-out.

The new 2017 edition Ghibli offers new Luxury & Sport packages, an optional Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, new carbon package and upgraded infotainment system. Both Ghibli and Ghibli S feature the Twin Turbo-charged 3.0-litre V6 engine with the 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. On display at #autoshanghai 2017 is the Ghibli 350 HP, capable of a top speed of 267 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds.

Since 2013, Ermenegildo Zegna unveils its new #maserati Capsule Collection featuring leather goods, luxury clothing and personal accessories designed to reflect the craftsmanship and elegance synonymous with the two Made in Italy brands. The SS17 Zegna-Maserati Capsule Collection will be available at selected Ermenegildo Zegna’s worldwide stores and via Zegna.com.

The global vision, passion for #excellence and uncompromising values shared by Ermenegildo Zegna and #maserati provide a strong foundation for brand collaboration to meet discerning consumers’ demand for quality, luxury and exclusivity. The brands’ collaboration began in 2013 with an exclusive collection of 100 #maserati Quattroportes featuring interior fabrics by Lanificio Zegna. This successful project was later followed by special-edition trim packages for Ghibli and Quattroporte – and now for Levante as well. This ongoing partnership, which originally set out to celebrate the brands’ shared Italian heritage leading up to Maserati’s centennial in 2014, has continued to build momentum and remains strong to this day.
