Steve Holcombe and METZELER were the overall leader in the sixth round of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship which took place in Italy

A weekend rich with victories and podium places for the METZELER brand, with the riders Steve Holcombe, Alex Salvini, Thomas Oldrati, Eero Remes and Andrea Verona competing in the sixth round of the Enduro World Championship which took place in Edolo

Edolo (Italy), 3 September 2018 - The splendid panorama of the Val Camonica and the town of Edolo in the province of Brescia provided the setting for the sixth round of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship. The Italian Grand Prix took place on terrain in critical condition due to the heavy rain which fell for the entire weekend, but METZELER riders were as usual the main players, collecting numerous wins for the tyre brand. 
 
The METZELER riders continue to dominate the FIM EnduroGP World Championship, and on the occasion of the Italian Grand Prix, the overall leader was Steve Holcombe (Team Beta Factory Enduro), winner of the Enduro GP and the E3 on both days of racing.  Alex Salvini (Team JET Zanardo) and Eero Remes (TM Racing Factory Team) shared first place in the E1 on their bikes, which were fitted with METZELER MCE 6 DAYS EXTREME tyres. Another excellent performance also from Andrea Verona (TM Racing Factory Team) in the Junior 1 class, collecting two splendid wins in the GP on home ground.
 
After his recent accident, Jamie McCanney (Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team) returned to the E1 class, and managed to take second place on the podium on both days of racing.
 
In the E2 class, once again two riders fitted with METZELER tyres were among the prominent figures in the Italian GP. Alex Salvini and Eero Remes dominated the premier class and shared first place for the two days of racing. Outstanding performance was also seen from Thomas Oldrati (Honda RedMoto) who, on day 2, earned his first podium of the season with an excellent second place.
 
A double win in the E3 class for the METZELER-supported rider Steve Holcombe. The rider for the Beta Factory Enduro Team continued to affirm his role as class leader with a consistent lead over Christophe Nambotin and his compatriot Dany McCanney.
 
It was also an excellent weekend of races for Andrea Verona, who, in the Junior class took second place on the podium twice, additionally dominating both days of the Junior 1 with two wins, riding with METZELER MCE 6 DAYS EXTREME tyres. 
 
The FIM EnduroGP World Championship is reaching the climax, and the penultimate round of the Championship is scheduled for Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 September with the GP in France.
