New customised Yacht Support vessel sold
DAMEN Yacht Support is pleased to confirm the sale of a new 55.5-metre #ys5009 (182 ft) from the Yacht Support range of vessels. The new vessel is currently under construction and due for delivery in summer 2019.
The #damen Yacht Support team worked with the owner’s team to create a highly customised design based on the #ys5009 (pictured). When delivered, she will be the seventh #ys5009 sailing today and, like recent deliveries POWER PLAY, SHADOW and AXIS, she features owner and guest interiors. Together with extra staff cabins, lots of storage and luxury service facilities, the whole proven platform comes in at under 500 Gross Tonnage.
AMELS and #damen Managing Director Rose #damen comments: “This year we hosted POWER PLAY at the Monaco Yacht Show, which attracted a lot of interest. More and more yacht owners want to know what our range offers and how owning a Yacht Support vessel can boost their yachting lifestyle. This latest purchase is a great example that will be a fantastic asset for our client when she is delivered.”
Peter Brown of Burgess represented the buyer during the purchase. “It has been a pleasure working with the #amels and #damen team on the sale of this Yacht Support vessel and we now eagerly anticipate the delivery of what will be a truly spectacular support vessel.’’
The buyer has appointed Burgess Technical Services to assist with supervising the rest of the build process.
The #ys5009 is a steel semi-displacement vessel with aluminium superstructure. The 12-tonne deck crane is perfect for launching toys, submersibles and large tenders up to 15 metres (50 ft). With DAMEN’s patented Sea Axe bow form, the vessel has greater seakeeping performance even in rough seas and reaches a top speed of 20 knots. Atlantic crossings are no problem for the #ys5009 thanks to a 5,000 nautical-mile range.
To date there are a total of 12 #damen Yacht Support vessels cruising the world and more under construction. #damen Yacht Support will deliver the first 45.6-metre YS 4508 (150 ft) in 2019 and has a new #ys5009 under construction for 2020 delivery. The range also includes the 70-metre design, illustrated by the recent delivery of GAME CHANGER. #damen Yacht Support is part of the #amels and #damen yachting portfolio, which includes #amels Limited Editions, #damen Yacht Support, #damen SeaXplorer as well as Full Custom and Refit.
