Sanlorenzo lands at boot Düsseldorf 2019 with the SX88 yacht

The shipyardsdebut with a completely new boothdesigned by Piero Lissoni

As one of the leadingyacht and #superyacht producers in the world, #sanlorenzo inaugurates the 2019 New Year by taking part in the 50th editionofBoot Düsseldorf, the main German trade show dedicated to the world of boating, which will take place from the 19th to the 27th of January.

This year, the company presents itself at the boat show with abrand new boothwhere containers, which recall the world of naval construction, alternate with settings of the highest elegance and aesthetic purity. The concept, by art director Piero Lissoni,is thus inspired on the one hand by the industrial style of the 1960s, and on the other hand marries the unmistakable style of the designerand of #sanlorenzo in the name of simplicity, lightness, and formal discretion.

On display thecrossover SX88yacht, selected to represent Sanlorenzo’s style. The SX88 is a highlyinnovative proposal, full of original and clever, rational and practical features and the company has already sold about 20 units of this model.

A successfull and cleverunion between classic flying bridge motory achtsand theexplorer type #yacht, the SX88 contains various “firsts” by Sanlorenzo:

  • The availability of large open spaces and large windows that ensure an effective and optimal interior/exterior access, a feature increasingly requested by the most experienced and knowledgeable owners.
  • The perfect integration between aesthetics and functionality. The hull with a very seaworthy high bow, maintains the profile descending towards the stern that slims the whole mass and gives it a substantial appearance, also making the SX88 a vessel able to face any eventuality. The superstructure featuring ample glazed surfaces harmoniously integrates the "voids" of the windows into the "full" areas of the structure.
  • The wheelhouse located on the upper deck, the flying bridge, has a windshield and if necessary can be enclosed sideways by double-hung windows, while the whole stern area of the bridge can be enclosed by a series of strataglass panels.
  • The wheelhouse placed only on the fly, maintains free the living room area at the bow on the main deck, which can therefore be dedicated to the dining room adjacent to the kitchen (available in a fully enclosed version or as an open-space kitchen) or, as in the version designed by Piero Lissoni, the main deck interior becomes a single open environment which houses as a continuous living area, the living room, dining room and open kitchen.
  • The bow areaof the main deckis fully equipped to offer a livable, convivial, and relaxing area with a large sunbed, convertible into a very private and shaded dining area.
  • The swimming platform at the stern, four steps lower compared to the main deck, houses the tender, a jet-ski and other toys. Moreover, harmoniously hidden in the profile of the extension of the left handrail, is the crane to move the two toys without cluttering the area with technical gear. Once freed from the tender, the vast platform, which extends about 50 centimeters on the water surface, becomes an extraordinary beach club of over 30 square meters, furnished with sun umbrellas and sunloungers.

The design of theinteriorsis a perfect example of the Sanlorenzostyle which marries refinement and simplicity, in this case in a space that is characterized by soft, warm colors enhanced by natural light that enters through the wide windows of the living room.

Further defining the main deck, the glass wall which connects the living room with the kitchen usesa sash window mechanism which can be left open or closed. This solution permits the boat to be lived in as an open space or, alternatively, allows the work area to be separated from the kitchen, living and dining areas, creating atop deck that is not only spectacular but also functional.

Adjacent to the bow wall, the bar area completes the personalized living area, and is also furnished with the leading international design brands.

SX88 thus narrates the great ability of #sanlorenzo to work on the concept of space, with the ability to transform itself depending on needs, with the goal of ensuring the greatest livability.

The concept of this innovative and advanced motor #yacht was born in the design offices of #sanlorenzo under the guidance of Architect Luca Santellato whose efforts were added the creative contributions of the Officina Italiana Design of Mauro Micheliand Sergio Beretta.Lou Codega, the internationally famous American designer of fast fishing and ocean going boats, designed the hull.

The next boat show will bring Sanlorenzo back to Miami, where the brand participated in December at Art Basel Miami Beach.

In a coherent path that brought the shipyards to take part in the main art events collaborating with important institutions and galleries, #sanlorenzo reconfirms the close relationship with the art world with the recent global partnership agreement with Art Basel, the leading art fair for modern and contemporary art, for the annual events of Hong Kong in March, Basel in June and Miami Beach in December.
