Fendi Casa Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2019


Storage compartments, secrets and stylish details bring vibrancy to the new FENDI Casa collection being presented at the 2019 Salone Internazionale del Mobile. The codes of the Roman Maison convey the most exclusive trends for inside and outside the home, envisaging an intense, glamorous and ironic modernity.

And so we come to the Thea chair proposed at the Salone in the new outdoor version. A compendium of savoir- faire and handcrafting: new geometries marked out strand by strand by craftsmen, who interpret the technical material in an exercise of style that embodies the FENDI Casa world. Edges decorated with the iconic Peekaboo handbag braiding also feature in the geometry of the armchair backrest.

The new Dorian bed, an interpretation of the sofa by the same name, can be customised in every detail starting with the headboard. The zip slider with pull and F is Fendi logo and zip with coloured ribbing have been inspired by the latest ready-to-wear collections, in which zips, as seen on the catwalk, no longer provide a purely functional purpose but assume an aesthetic value. Or the Brigitte armchair, inspired by the steel structures of mid 20th century architecture, and presented in mink or upholstery in the Pequin pattern, Fendi’s non-logo logo, which immediately evokes the brand’s precious heritage and forms a fil rouge through the entire collection.

The FENDI Casa 2019 collection makes continuous, unexpected cross-references between fashion and #design. As a matter of fact, the Duke sofa’s heat-welded storage compartment featuring the all-over FF logo pattern, which provides practical concealed storage space lined in micro-fibre, draws its inspiration from FENDI travel bags.

The surfaces of the exhibition stand have also been embellished with graphic quotes inspired by the Astuccio fur designed by Karl Lagerfeld in 1971. The colour palette is characterised by a skilful use of colour that evokes nature and the sensations aroused by Cape Town in South Africa, a location of fascinating contrasts, which forms the backdrop to the new FENDI Casa 2019-2020 catalogue entitled ‘Somewhere’. Powder blues, greens and neutral gradations of grey, with splashes of saturated colour applied to textile accessories and complementary furnishing items.

The proposals are also creative, as can also be seen in the combination of materials: wild effect nubuck leathers and heavy fabrics sporting three-dimensional graphic designs, which emphasise the lines and metal elements proposed in the collection’s finishes.

THE COLLECTION

DUKE SOFA
The Duke sofa, which expresses a contemporary mood in the version presented at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, offers broad storage armrests. Embellished by leather upholstery decorated with the all-over FF logo, they house concealed practical storage compartments lined with micro-fibre. Fashion and functionality come together to support the back cushion, a metal frame covered in leather with raw cut edges. The FENDI logo heat-stamped on the back and the metal zip bring the personality of the #design to the fore.

RAY SOFA
The band of quilted leather with the all-over FF logo outlining the backrest cushions forms the feature of the new Ray sofa. Sporting clean-cut lines, this elegant sofa with removable covers can be customised down to the smallest detail. The metal plating embracing it, for example is available in steel and gun-metal, Bronze Shadow, polished brass or Palladium finishes.

CONSTELLATION EFFE COFFEE TABLE
An iconic piece of the FENDI Casa collection revisited in a contemporary key, the new Constellation Effe coffee tables with transparent tops are produced in two diameters: 60 and 120 centimetres. The side structures, the ring supporting the top and the F is FENDI logo pattern are made of galvanised metal available in gun-metal, Bronze Shadow, polished brass and Palladium finishes.

PRISME CRYSTAL COFFEE TABLE
Prisme Crystal coffee tables characterised by their essential lines are being presented in a new version featuring storage space and internal parts decorated in horizontal stripes with the logo. The bridge is made of transparent tempered glass in the ultra-clear versions, or smoked, bronze, green or blue tinted glass. An arrangement of parallelepipeds, embellished by the metal plating on one side, offers an infinite range of customised geometries for the home.

DOMINO MIRROR
An unexpected creative bubble brings the FENDI universe inside the home, and vice versa: reflections become a game in which shapes and colours deviate from their normal perspectives, are turned upside down and distorted on the same surface. An artistic, decorative interpretation of the Domino line of mirrors in a variety of shades (smoked, bronze, blue or green), with silvered bevelled or convex curved surface. The steel frame is available in gun-metal, Bronze Shadow or Palladium finishes.

THE OUTDOOR COLLECTION

THEA SOFA, ARMCHAIR, LOVESEAT
The iconic Thea armchair #design is combined with the most cutting-edge materials for use in outdoor spaces, such as 316 stainless steel, which is used for the backrest. #design and technology have come together to create a more lightweight, high-performance product for open air ambiances embellished with the same workmanship, hundreds of metres of hi-tech cord that reflects the specific characteristics of leather. The round lumbar cushion, a distinctive feature of Thea, performs exceedingly well in terms of comfort and resilience. A sofa, loveseat and armchair complete the range, offering a number of different seating options.

VERSILIA ARMCHAIR
Versilia is the new outdoor seating line sporting clean-cut proportions. The solid Iroko wood frame in chestnut tinted semi- gloss finish houses the soft, waterproof fabric cushioning. A lattice of elastic belts suitable for outdoor use and stainless steel components support the seat and backrest. The decorative roller cushion in co-ordinated fabric completes the seat available in armchair and sofa versions.

RIPPLE TRAYS
The Ripple outdoor trays available in round and square geometric shapes feature a marble surface available in Calacatta Warm Gold, Carrara Gioia, Verde Alpi or the new Portoro Palladium, an Italian stone with intense black nuances enlivened by silver and gold veining. The letters of the FENDI logo are engraved into the marble surface and inlaid with polished steel.
