Salvatore Ferragamo: comprehensive sustainability with SI rating


Confirming the strong focus on comprehensive sustainability, #salvatoreferragamo S.p.A. is the first company in the #fashion industry to obtain the certification with SI Rating.

Florence, August 10, 2020. Salvatore Ferragamo announces that it has obtained the SI Rating Silver certificate, testifying to the strong focus on managing sustainability in multiple ESG areas.

Created by the innovative Italian start-up ARBalzan, SI Rating is the first algorithm that includes on a single platform all the internationally recognized tools of the ESG criteria (Environmental, Social and Governance) and the 17 SDGs of the United Nations contained in the 2030 Agenda, to evaluate the management of organizations sustainability. SI Rating is validated by Rina, as an international certification body and ARBalzan has obtained collaboration with SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board) for the materiality map.

Salvatore Ferragamo's contribution to the 17 Goals of the United Nations was considered remarkable: 85% for goal 3 good health and well-being; 88% for gender equality; 89% for decent work and economic growth; 80% for responsible consumption and production and 94% for industry, innovation and infrastructure.

Moreover, the Company stood out in other areas of relevance, such as:

  • For the Environmental part, performances of 98% in greenhouse gas emissions and of 100% in energy management are highlighted;
  • For what concerns the Social side, percentages of 100% in consumer protection, 100% in the working conditions of employees and company benefits and 97% for health and safety in the workplace are recorded;
  • As regards Governance, the management of the product life cycle obtains 97%, the management and efficiency of the supply chain 96% and the ethical conduct of the activities 93%.
