Renaissance quartet: Cockwells creates four tenders for Spain’s largest superyacht

Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding has delivered a quartet of custom-built tenders to Spanish shipyard, Freire, for the 112m seven-deck megayacht, Renaissance, which is the largest private #superyacht ever to have been built in Spain.

The acclaimed British boatbuilder has designed and built a 13m Limousine Tender, a 13m Open Tender, a 10m Beach Lander Tender and an Air-Sport 7.0 for the sumptuous #superyacht, all of which are stowed on board.

With styling to match the mothership, the interior of the 13m Limousine Tender is influenced by the #design of a private jet with its three reclining seats aft, a bench seat and dinette area. Guests who prefer to enjoy the open air of the aft deck can do so from a choice of seven seats including two aft-facing recliners. Full height standing headroom, air-conditioning and a forward luggage room complete the onboard amenities whilst the semi-displacement hull, twin Yanmar 8LV engines and Seakeeper stabiliser offer the ultimate in speed and comfort.

The 13m Open Tender offers the luxury of the limousine but without the enclosed feeling of a cabin. Guests are still protected from the sun’s rays by the height-adjustable hardtop, whilst a second windscreen in the main cockpit provides additional protection from the wind. Utilising the same hull, stabiliser and propulsion package as the 13m Limousine Tender, this vessel also includes a forward luggage room and two aft-facing recliners.

The 10m Beach Lander Tender’s party trick is its two-part electronically-folding bow ramp. As the boat is propelled by waterjets, beach landings can be undertaken with ease. A central helm position provides excellent all-round visibility. Other features include an aft deck for sunbathing and equipment/luggage transfer, a pole for wakeboarding, a deck shower and a folding hardtop.

Cockwells’ semi-production Air-Sport 7.0 completes the set and combines the practical attributes of a RIB, such as inflatable tubes to fender off both mothership and quayside, with all the flair and luxury of an open limousine.

Other key features include a forward spray hood that pulls up from beneath the edge of the cockpit, where it is hidden when not in use; boarding points from port, aft and starboard with a raising/lowering handrail to aid safety when embarking by the helm console, and quick-change tubes that slide off for easy maintenance.

Powered by a 250hp Yanmar diesel engine with stern drive, this open sports tender, which doubles up as a functional crew launch, achieves a nifty 36 knots.

"With more than a quarter of a century of building exceptional #superyacht tenders for discerning clients from across the globe, #Cockwells is no stranger to opulence, craftsmanship and style, but to have been commissioned to custom-build this quartet of tenders for one of the largest superyachts in the world is something of a pinnacle,” comments Founder & Managing Director, Dave Cockwell.

“As a result, we have been commissioned to create a further quartet of tenders by a new client, which serves to consolidate our position as one of the most well-respected and innovative builders of bespoke craft in the industry, building to precise specifications and the highest of standards.”
