Prime Minister to Open Inaugural Thailand Yacht Show at Official Ceremony

Prime Minister to Open Inaugural #thailandyachtshow at Official Ceremony At a press conference in Bangkok hosted by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, theMinistry of Transport, the Tourism Authority of #thailand and the Marine Department, three Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State along with the Vice Governor of #phuket, and special guest H E Paul Robilliard, Ambassador of Australia, demonstrated their support for the new #thailandyachtshow.

With all parties joining the yachting and boating industries in support of the Government's new policy to promote #thailand as the 'marina and yachting hub of ASEAN', as well as an international operational base for #superyacht charters, the Show, which runs from 8 to 14 February at Ao Po Grand Marina , #phuket, benefits from national significance and Government backing. Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul commented: “...I am confident that the #thailandyachtshow 2016 will excellently meet the government policy, particularly in terms of marketing and public relations... the promotion of the (...) Show will definitely provide tremendous benefits to the Thai economy and society as a whole.” Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, Minister of Transport was also present and added: “I believe that this show will be a key driver for sustainable economic growth in all aspects ranging from promoting tourism sector to creating inspiration and vibrant atmosphere for marine tourism industry and other services ...” Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha will officially open the Show on Thursday 11 February.

Show organiser, Andy Treadwell commented: “I have worked with a lot of governments, but never with a more proactive and enthusiastic one, who completely understand the potential benefits for the local community and are totally dedicated to developing a successful future for yachting in #thailand. And it is not just about the superyachts.
