Today, 10 July 2018, is an historic day for the Royal Air Force (RAF) as the service’s 100th #anniversary celebrations come to a head in central #london. To mark this occasion, publisher St James’s House is hosting a book presentation for the commemorative album that it has produced in association with the RAF100 Appeal, entitled 100 Years of the RAF. #bainessimmons, part of global aviation services group Air Partner plc, is proud to feature in the book as an editorial partner.

Tens of thousands of spectators are expected to fill the Royal Parks and the Mall as up to 100 RAF aircraft from the past century come together in a flypast over Buckingham Palace. #bainessimmons Director Bob Simmons and Principal Consultant Andy Llewellyn will also be in attendance to witness this historic event, which is the first time since the Second World War victory celebrations of 1946 that such a vast number of aircraft have gathered over #london.

A longstanding relationship between Baines Simmons and the RAF has seen the two working together on both regulatory and safety initiatives since 2003. #bainessimmons is proud to continue its working partnership with the RAF to this day, bringing specialist expertise to help protect the safety of the UK’s armed forces and the availability of the RAF’s aircraft. The strength of this relationship is also demonstrated in the fact that a number of Baines Simmons’ consultants have served in the RAF.

Bob Simmons, Director at #bainessimmons, said: “Baines Simmons is extremely proud to support the “100 Years of the RAF” commemorative album. We have worked closely with the Force over a number of years and on a number of initiatives to help evolve thinking around the management of safety.

The RAF fully recognises the importance of a people-centric safety culture and we are pleased to help them make this a reality. Our safety philosophy is that things be practical, progressive and objective, and we strive to make a real and lasting impact on aviation safety - for the RAF and all our other customers.”

Founded in 2001, Baines Simmons specialises in aviation regulations and safety management, partnering with leading civil and military aviation organisations worldwide. The company serves as a “one-stop-shop” for aviation safety, improving everything from reliability of parts, availability of aircraft and error reporting, to risk-based decision-making, performance of flight crews and cost controls.
