Craft Galerie, dialogue with materials.

Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

An unrivalled quest for quality and a commitment to traditional savoir-faire is at the very heart of Métaphores’ approach. As such, the theme of the latest collection Craft Galerie is felicitous. It is inspired by the world of artisans, ingenious makers who adopt age-old techniques to create objects of inimitable beauty that are both anchored in the past and firmly of the present. Working by hand, they employ great skill to craft, carve, sculpt, mould, fashion and adorn.

The eight references in the new collection have been conceived to imitate different natural materials: clay, wood, leather, metal, transformed by artisanal processes, whether it be chasing, enamelling or engraving. Materiality is paramount. The fabrics are inherently textural with complex weaves that shimmer and vibrate. Some are more organic and expressive, others delightfully delicate and subtly subdued.

What they all share is a respect for the environment. Their fibres have been chosen with ecological concerns in mind: recycling, low water consumption, local production. Métaphores’ pledge to reduce the environmental impact of its fabrics is thus reaffirmed.

The new collection Craft Galarie is exibited at Chelsea Harbour #design Centre in London.

Corcorde

The house reveals Concorde, a linen velvet of unique beauty, produced for the first time in a limited edition. The long, flexible fibres of the linen stand out for their incomparable depth and luxuriance. Perfectly suited to upholstery, its voluptuous texture creates a soft and inviting feel in which to sink your hand. A washed finish enhances its surface with soft frosted highlights in a palette of thirteen natural shades. Concorde also illustrates the house’s firm commitment to the environment. A natural and eco- friendly textile fibre known for its strength and softness, linen contributes to soil preservation as it requires no fertiliser and relatively little water. This fabric, grown in northern France, carries the Master of Linen label. Concorde is woven, dyed and finished in Europe, between Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands. Each of the house’s partners has the know-how and expertise required to develop this incredible material.
