The German Institute for Quality and Finance (ITQF) has made a 2022 update to the ‘Green Star’ research, aimed at certifying the most sustainable companies. To do so, ITQF used the social listening method: a meticulous internet analysis that used artificial intelligence to collect over a million mentions on social media, news, blogs and portals regarding ecological sustainability (environmental protection, alternative sources of energy, environmental footprint and recycling), the green economy (environmentally friendly production, fair trade and greenwashing) and social sustainability (integration and inclusion, social justice, occupational safety, human rights, social employment and salary gap) in 2000 companies. The result is the most in-depth investigation of online reputation in Italy with regard to sustainability.
