Groninger Museum to auction off Rolling Stones flat

The Groninger Museum will auction off one-of-a-kind items from the Rolling Stones – Unzipped exhibition in January. The star of the show is a reconstruction of the flat in Edith Grove, London, where Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Brian Jones lived together as young men. The online auction opens for bidding through Venduehuis on Wednesday 3 January and ends at 8pm on Monday 15 January. Registration opens on 3 January at venduehuis.com.

Other striking lots include a large tongue sculpture, currently on display on the bridge outside the Groninger Museum, and a Rolling Stones flag. Fans can also bid on a gold record issued by Universal Music to mark the sale of 20,000 copies of the album Hackney Diamonds. One of only two made, the disc is currently on view in the museum. Bidders keen to experience the band members up close can bid on life-sized cartoon figures designed by the comics artist Typex. The props were displayed in Universal Music's pop-up shop in Groningen.

About The Rolling Stones – Unzipped
The Rolling Stones – Unzipped is making its final appearance at the Groninger Museum until 21 January 2024, when the show closes forever. On view are more than 400 objects from the famous band's personal archives, including original instruments, stage designs, album covers, iconic costumes, and rare audio fragments and video footage. Highlights include the model apartment, a reconstruction of the band's studio, and the grand finale: a spectacular Dolby Atmos experience of a 2016 concert in Cuba.
